Band & Ball Pilates Mat Classes The basic principles of Pilates conditioning are to give students an overall sense of body awareness, create core strength, and to increase efficiency of movement. Pilates consists of a sequence of carefully performed movements. Each exercise is designed to stretch and strengthen the muscles involved, working joints and releasing tension. Specific breathing patterns for each exercise assist in directing energy to a particular area of the body. The Pilates Method works many of the deeper muscles of the body, improving coordination and balance.
